Useful Tips During a Storm

Storms can come about unexpectedly and can be severe! Are you ready for what happens if your area has storm damage?

If you have a power outage in the Vicksburg & Yazoo area be sure to:

Keep freezer and refrigerator doors closed. It will reduce the chance of food spoilage.

Use generators only outdoors and away from windows

Disconnect appliances/electronics. Power surges can destroy equipment

For people who use power wheelchairs, have a battery. 

Do not use a gas stove or oven to heat your home and/or business

If your area has a storm event it's a great idea to have an Emergency Preparedness Kit:

Inside of one, you could have non perishable food and water supplies for 72 hours.  Also a battery operated weather radio to keep you informed

Be sure to have a basic first aid kit for any emergency needs.
